Driver's seat 2021

“I hate my body that’s the reason I work, the body hates itself that’s the reason why it grows”.

This expression that The BERG came across on the internet from a bodybuilder concretised his whole approach to the space and the work itself.
Trembling back and forth between the correlation of a boxing space and the outcomes of the boxing act itself are combined in this work with the statement mentioned before.

Upon further research The BERG directed his upcoming experience in a sports hall with the masochism of the human anatomy itself.
Since the over production of the muscle structure is possible with the micro muscular tearups, he aimed to witness the self destructive and productive composition of his body.

The installation that consists of a ballistic sculpture and two channel video capsulated into a rather inviting leather bed allowed him to create a setting for the double edged nature of the human body: Tension and comfort
Therefore the tension you can witness in the videos is the outcome of the ballistic sculpture being lifted by him while his muscle structure is visioned by help of an ultrasound machine.
